β’ A mini reward (and spark reward) are simply small rewards along the way to help keep the momentum going. This is β’VERYβ’ helpful for younger kids and neurodivergent kids.
A mini reward can be something very small - it's entirely up to you how to use your reward chart.
Mini reward example:
β’ 5 minutes of extra screen time
β’ an ice cream cone on the way home from school
- anything the child will find encouraging and exciting.
π No worries if you prefer to use a rewards chart without mini rewards - we provide a version with AND without for every reward chart we offer.

π Why do we provide multiple check-off days options?

We are aware that for younger and neurodivergent kids, a day 10 or 14 mark-off system often works better than a longer chart.
28 days is a long time - even for me. Although it does take time to develop a new habit or break an old one, it may be better to use two reward charts in a row rather than one long one.
Yet, older kids, especially when working towards a large reward, may thrive on a chart with 28 days.
